Eddie Silva, a resident of Belen, New Mexico, born August 31, 1952, in Westwood California, passed away on April 21, 2024, at age 71.
He is preceded in death by his father, Fidel P. Silva; his mother, Margaret Silva; his brothers, Barney, and Robert Silva; and his son, Jacob Silva.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Silva; his two children, Angelique Ladd, and Fidel Silva (Stephanie), his six grandchildren, Austin Ladd, Elizabeth Silva (Zachary), Jacob Silva, Martina Silva, Victoria Ladd, and Francisco Silva; and two great grandchildren, Elliott & Travis Martin.
Eddie is a retired journeyman union Ironworker Local 495 in Albuquerque and 433 out of Las Vegas. This became a 45-year career. His work ethic inspired his two sons, Jacob, and Fidel, to follow in his footsteps, also becoming union journeyman ironworkers.
He was a hard-working man who never missed a day of work. He always showed up on the job site an hour early and enjoyed his coffee while waiting for the job to start. It was important to him to provide for his family. He loved being a husband, father, Grandpa / papa Eddie. He was kind and generous. He was loved by his family and friends. He will be missed by those who loved him very much.
Services for Eddie will be held on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. A visitation will take place at 10:00 am, followed by a rosary at 10:30 am. A mass will then be recited at 11:00 am. Eddie will then be placed to rest at the Our Lady of Belen Memorial Gardens immediately following the mass.
